Topic: Computer Music: A Creative Panacea or Aesthetic Purgatory

Professor Johnston, who studied with some of the pioneers in the development of Computer Music at Princeton University, to include Milton Babbitt, J.K. Randall, and Paul Lansky, will present a lecture on the historical ramifications and present applications of Computer Music.  Several music examples will be provided to demonstrate the ubiquitous nature of computer technology in the world of perception and creativity.
